So you want to learn more about me
I'm Christina Kinyen (previously Christina Nguyen), a strategic product designer in the SF bay area with 13 years of experience in complex domains including AI, healthcare, and cybersecurity.
I believe design can shift people how people see, helping them envision a more optimistic, empathetic future. I've learned that impactful design comes from curiosity and deep understanding.
How do you practice design?
I don't think there's a perfect way in doing things. Each workplace has its own values and culture, which lends itself to different design practices.
Here are some that I am try to be consistent with:
Lead with curiosity
Find the universal in the specific
Be intentional

What do you do outside of design?
I like to make things with my hands, and these activities often rotate so ask me what's in season.
It could be knitting, ceramics, assembling LEGOs, baking, making miniatures… Quarterly, I'm aiming to do little experimental workshops and gatherings with friends.
In the past, I've volunteered for an organization that helps homeless children, a suicide prevention hotline, and a FIRST robotics team.
